I am thrilled to be your Media Specialist/Librarian at NMS! Last year was my first year as a LMS, and it was a terrific year.  This is my 8th year in education, and my 5th year as a Maroon! I look forward to another great school year.  We have many exciting activities that will take place in the Media Center/Library this year.

    Library Schedule

We have flexible scheduling and an open library policy at NMS.  We want you to use the library as much as possible, for a variety of purposes.

You may come to the library during homeroom or throughout the day with teacher permission.  Language Arts classes rotate visiting the library every other week.  You may check-in, check-out, or renew your library books at this time.

We will be collaborating with the Pulaski County Public Library once a month.  A representative from the library will visit our school to help promote reading, teach mini lessons, and promote activities that take place at the public library.

    Dewey Know Where to Go?

Our Non-Fiction books are categorized by the Dewey Decimal numerical system.  Each book has a spine label with a number. These numbers represent various subjects.  Look for these framed posters in our library to help direct you to the location of non-fiction books.

    Ender's Game Book Trailer

Jett Phillippi, 8th grade student, has created a book trailer for one of the books that was featured in the March Madness Final Four book tournament. Click the following link to view the book trailer: Ender's Game Book Trailer .

    Student Readers
A group of students attended a field trip to Pulaski Elementary in Spring 2015. The middle school students dressed up and planned activities to go along with their books. This is our 2nd annual trip to read at Pulaski Elementary. We plan to do another visit Spring 2016.

    • Office365_students.docx
    • Attached is a word document that provides students with instructions on how to get to and begin the installation process for Office 365 on their personal computers. Students, because of our Microsoft Office agreement, can install Office 365 on up to 5 personal computers as long as they have a valid @stu.pulaski.kyschools.us email account. Please share this information with your students and with parents via newsletters, etc. so that they will know that they now have access to download and install the office products at no cost to them. The installation will provide our students access to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote. Just to give you an idea of cost savings for our students, Office 365 is normally a subscription based access and it is $69.99 per year. To purchase Office for students (which does not include Outlook) the cost of $139.99 and that is for installation on one computer.
