Meeting began at 3:32.

Committee Business:

 

  1. Spring Academy
    1. Daniel Hill is developing units for novice reduction use during academy
    2. Will be focused on Portfolios and Math
  2. PD Needs
    1. Paula Collins is attending a Scoring training on March 12.

                                                               i.      New pages for the portfolio scoring handbook will be released Feb. 12.

  1. Item Analysis for Assessment
    1. 7th grade will bring an Open Response question and student samples sor the March committee meeting.
  2. Curriculum Map Update
    1. All grade levels are right on target.
  3. Novice Reduction Plan
    1. Formative assessments are one tool that teams are using to evaluate the progress of targeted students.

                                                               i.      So far, teams are seeing slow growth

    1. Common assessments are also a useful tool.
  1. Technology Use
    1. All teams have been using the airliner and projector.
    2. Goal: to use the grade cam
  2. District Writing Plan
    1. Elementary plan is not yet finalized
    2. Paula Collins thinks the middle school plan will be similar
    3. No further updates so far.
  3. Conferencing Plan
    1. One session has been completed

                                                               i.      Jennifer Butcher thought that scheduling conferences during their students’ exploratory did not work.

    1. Next conferencing session is the end of Feb. and the beginning of March
    2.  
  1. Resource Needs
    1. Ms. Hargis has ordered a tool (flip chart folder) for all grade levels that cross references Core Content and Program of Studies.
    2. Resources for 7th grade to authentically publish books
  2. Review CATS Score Goals
