Evaluate and restructure curriculum timelines monthly and make revisions as
necessary for implementation.

Discuss PD needs and submit requests to Ms. Hargis quarterly.
- One
grade level will submit a common assessment per grading term for the
committee to review and provide feedback using the SIT Item Analysis for
Assessments protocol. Discuss the use of open response questions at each
grade level and share examples of effective open response questions that
measure application of content at high levels.

Conduct analysis of student work for Reading and On-Demand Writing in
November, January, & March. The committee should develop a schedule of
which teachers will submit work for each analysis and turn in with your
minutes to Ms. Murphy.

Analyze CATS and NCLB data and develop a plan of action for your content
(Reading and Writing) to target identified needs (Sp. Ed. And Gifted) and
set goals for novice reduction. Submit to Ms. Murphy with November minutes.
Review implementation and impact of the activities at each meeting.

Develop a common mid-year and a final exam for at each grade level. Bring
mid-year assessment to December meeting and bring final to May meeting and
plan to review with colleagues. Attach mid-year assessment to Dec. Lesson
Plans and attach Final to May Lesson Plans.
- Seek
and share ideas for integrated technology, resources, and content specific
instructional strategies at each meeting.

Review the District Writing Plan for Middle Schools.

Discuss resource and material needs for the department (calculators,
dictionaries, thesauri, etc.) at each meeting.

Discuss and share effective collaboration strategies at each meeting.

Review your CATS goal for the upcoming school year each meeting.

Re-evaluate School-Wide Writing Plan in September and distribute writing
cover sheet to staff at the September Faculty Meeting.
