Expectations for LAB
LAB stands for Learning Appropriate Behavior.
This is our in-school suspension program. Students may be assigned LAB by their
classroom teachers, administrators, or other staff at NMS. Students assigned to
LAB are expected to know and follow these guidelines.

When students get off the bus they will
report directly to the LAB classroom in room 116. They will remain in LAB
the entire day and will dismiss from the LAB room at their designated bell.

Students must have appropriate study
materials on hand when they arrive in the LAB. Students are not allowed to
go to their locker at anytime during the day. They are not allowed to go to
their locker to get anything either in the morning, during the day, or in
the afternoon. Students will be expected to complete all assignments given
by classroom teachers that day. If students are not working on an
assignment, the LAB supervisor will assign work. No E-mail or Internet
services will be provided.

Students will be provided Breakfast and
Lunch in the LAB room.

Students will have two supervised restroom
breaks during the day.

While in LAB, students will remain in their
seat at all times, sitting up straight, keeping feet and chair on the floor
and facing forward with your hands to yourself.

Raise your hand to ask a question, get help
with an assignment, or when an assignment has been completed. Talking,
making noises, and/or communication with other students is Not Tolerated.

The following are not allowed:
~food or drink
~leaving class for
any reason
~personal grooming,
sleeping
~moving or defacing
the study carrel
6. Students will be dismissed after the
LAB supervisor has inspected
your area for cleanliness, all trash and debris
have been picked up, and your chair has been pushed in.
I understand these rules and
agree to follow them understanding that failure to do so will result in
additional disciplinary actions.
