Peer Mediation:

Northern has utilized a Peer Mediation Program for several years.  The purpose of this program is to provide an alternate means of resolving conflicts, enabling students to resolve disputes without staff interventions, and to create a positive and safe environment for students and staff.  Peer Mediation has been used successfully to solve conflicts involving rumors, gossip, teasing, physical and/or verbal aggression, and other minor conflicts.  Mediations are scheduled to minimize any lost instructional time.  Referrals to Mediation may be made by a teacher, parent, or student.  See Ms. Wiles if you would like to make a referral or if you have a question.
