SBDM Council Meeting

November 25, 2008

Members present were Angela Murphy, Julie Dick, Jerrilyn Randolph, Marty Taylor, and Ginny McIver.  Shelly Hargis was also in attendance and kept minutes for the meeting.

Marty Taylor made a motion to approve the agenda as presented.  Jerrilyn Randolph seconded and it passed with consensus.

Ginny McIver made a motion to approve the minutes from Oct. 28, 2008, as presented.  Julie Dick seconded and it passed with consensus.

The Council reviewed committee minutes and accepted them by consent.

Marty Taylor made a motion to accept the financial report as presented. The motion was seconded by Jerrilyn Randolph and passed with consensus.  Ms. Murphy will remind teachers to spend their money by Feb. 15.

Ginny McIver reported status of PTSA to Council.  They just finished an AVON fundraiser.  Membership is low but they are planning to send home a flyer for a membership drive.  Santa Shop begins next week.  They are currently planning the first meeting in December with Student vs. Staff ballgame and “Let’s Make a Deal”, Northern Style.

In the Principal’s report, Ms. Murphy reminded the Council that we will not have a meeting in December.  Our Principal Advisory Council has been selected and met with Ms. Murphy.  They offered a lot of insight into “kid ideas” for our school.  We had a wonderful Science Fair today with great projects and participation from students.  Ms. Murphy shared events on our school calendar that are coming up. 

Ms. Dick made a motion to adjourn, Mr. Taylor seconded and it passed with consensus.  The meeting adjourned at 4:40.
