SBDM Council Regular Meeting

September 28, 2008

 

 

Ms. Murphy called the meeting to order at 4:05pm.  A quorum was established with the following members present, Angela Murphy, Jennifer Brock, Jerrilyn Randolph, Ginny McIver, and Julie Dick.  Marty Taylor was absent.  Shelly Hargis was present.  Shelly Petrey served as Council Secretary.

 

Ginny McIver made a motion to approve the agenda, Jennifer Brock seconded and it passed with consensus. 

 

Julie Dick made a motion to approve the minutes from the September 30th, meeting as presented.  Jerrilyn Randolph seconded the motion and it passed with consensus.  Ms. Murphy reported to Council that she informed Coach Murray of their decision not to change the Extra Curricular Policy.

 

Ms. Murphy discussed with Council the Intervention Update, and gave members a copy of the Cumulative Performance Report.

 

Council members viewed the committee meeting minutes.  Council was given a copy of the Crisis Response Plan.  Ginny McIver made a motion to approve the Plan as presented. Jennifer Brock seconded the motion and it passed with consensus.

 

Council members viewed the financial report and accepted by consent.

 

In the Principal’s Report, Ms. Murphy shared with the Council that the 7th grade book series had arrived.  The Board of Education paid half on a new tarp for the gym floor.   Ms. Murphy stated that Parent Teacher Conference, the Academic Rally, Bus Driver Appreciation Breakfast and the Halloween Social were all very successful.   7th & 8th grade students enjoyed motivational speaker Ed Geity’s presentation at East Somerset Baptist Church.  Council Members received the Council Newsletter. 

Ms. McIver shared with Council the coming events that PTSA are working on which are a Student versus Staff basketball game, an NMS Version of Let’s Make a Deal, Santa’s workshop and a Cookbook.   Ms. Murphy invited Council members to the Drama Club’s presentation of “Visions and Villains” on Thursday.

 

Jennifer Brock made a motion to adjourn at 4:45pm, Julie Dick seconded and it passed with consensus.
