How Purchasing Works
Purchasing FAQ
Why can't I shop at Wal-Mart?
To meet the needs of the 1,400+ K-12 public schools that receive assistance through the KETS Project, the Kentucky Department of Education, through the Office of Education Technology, has solicited bids for contracts since 1992. The resulting contracts awarded to vendors provide the foundation for the KETS standards that all K-12 schools adhere to. These contracts for hardware, software and services that school districts within Kentucky are required to utilize for those items.
It should be noted that not every technology related item is on KETS contracts, when they are not, purchasing rules are more flexible.
