Protecting Against Dog Bites

• Don't tease weird dogs.

• Don't chase a dog or encourage a dog to chase you.

• Ask before petting a neighbors dog.

• Avoid dogs you don't know.

• Don't run and scream around dogs.

• Don't stare at a dog, because they take it as a threat.

• Never stick your hand into a dog fight, even if one of the dogs is yours.

• If bitten tell an adult right away.

• Know what an angry dog looks like. Growling, showing teeth, barking, or biting you are signs of an angry dog.

General Safety

• Don't let a dog ride in an open pick up truck.

• Keep head and paws inside vehicle.

• Check pets collar regularly.

• Don't let your cat play with string.

• Keep your cat indoors.
